Next Wednesday’s Scone Chamber breakfast workshop ‘How to Start and Develop your Own Business’ is tailor-made for people thinking of launching a small business and those who need help to make a success of an existing business.

But, even those with a business that is performing well could benefit, says workshop presenter Julian Campbell, a highly respected Hunter-based Business Advisor with ETC.

“My 10 Steps to Success I cover in the workshop are listed on the back of my business card,” Campbell said.

“I meet a lot of business owners and they can’t resist reading through the list.

“Even the people with successful companies admit there are one or two steps they are not doing – or not doing very well.”

The 10 Steps to Success in business are:

  1. Have a passion for your vision

  2. Have a clear unique selling proposition

  3. Do your books: control your budget

  4. Break out of your comfort zones every day

  5. Find out what your customers want

  6. Compete on service, not price

  7. Document your systems

  8. Understand people

  9. Get paid!

  10. Dare to be different (and have fun)

Campbell has built a career helping scores of budding entrepreneurs in the Hunter Valley start and grow successful businesses. A regular presenter with the Muswellbrook Chamber, he spent last week judging that chamber’s business awards, interviewing and assessing each nominee.

The venue for is one of Scone’s most historic buildings, Victoria Hall at 91 Kingdon St. It will start at 7am with a delicious continental breakfast, with tea and coffee, supplied by The Oak Platter.
